In 1975, War Eagle Floats was established by L D Stephens after he purchased the riverfront property from a family member.  Having been raised in the area, L D wanted to share his love of the nature and wildlife along the Illinois River with others. He started out with just a few canoes while living in the small office, working the operation around the clock. Soon he began to expand, striving to meet and exceed all of his customer's expectations by offering new housing and floating options. Throughout the years, the small float business has grown into a resort that can accommodate the largest of groups.
